INTRODUCTION
|
|
CELLIAL Technologies is a new company,
founded in 2001, located in the North of France (Lens), specialized
in the studies of transport of molecules through the blood-brain
barrier. CELLIAL Technologies is a spin-off from an academic
research group from the Pasteur Institute of Lille, based
on 11 years of academic research and screening of molecules
on an in vitro blood-brain barrier for pharmaceutical companies.

Comparative studies of the transport of
a large number of drugs on our endothelial cells monolayers
and in vivo revealed a close correlation between the values
obtained (Cecchelli et al,.1999) and the effective results.
All these data show that our blood-brain barrier model closely
mimics the in vivo situation by reproducing some of the
complexities of the cellular environment that exist in vivo,
while retaining the experimental advantages associated with
tissue culture. Cellial Technologies is now under validation
by the european community (ECVAM).

Based on this excellent know-how,
CELLIAL Technologies offers expert services in the screening
of molecules across the blood-brain barrier, and is able to
adapt its services to industrial needs. Molecule transports
through the blood-brain barrier are tested in our laboratory.
